Ray Harryhausen at Tippett

So this news is a little old I guess, but still pretty cool. Ray Harryhausen came to Tippett Studio a couple weeks ago during his tour for his new book, The Art of Ray Harryhausen.

As I’m sure most of you know, Ray Harryhausen’s the animator responsible for all the spectacular and classic effects in such films as Clash of the Titans and The 7th Voyage of Sinbad.

It was really inspiring to meet him. He’s one of the pioneers of the industry, and a bit of an animation and visual effects legend. (Remember the name of restaurant in Monsters Inc?) Anyway, I’m really glad I got the opportunity, and also glad that he’s a nice enough guy to come out and indulge us. He managed to be chipper and friendly despite being surrounded by fanboys and having to sign piles of books and posters and my copy of Jason and the Argonauts.

So, from left to right, that’s me, Guido, Rob and Jance.
From bottom to top, that’s Ray, and then a bunch of wannabe animators.
