A few days ago some updates were trickled in, I’m just now getting around to posting it. The big ones are:
- ml_copyAnim: Added an option to copy animation onto a new layer. This came in very handy for blending multiple animation clips together. You can copy the animation from one whole puppet to another on a new layer, and use the layer weight to blend between them.
- ml_worldBake: Added a bunch more options, including baking to camera space or custom space, and maintaining constraints to the baked locators so that you can interactively see changes to the locator. If you have animation that you need further from camera, try this: Bake to camera space and maintain constraints. Group the locator that is created under the camera, and scale the group to make move the animated object away from camera. Then just bake back from the locator and you’re done.
- ml_utilities: There’s a couple new functions, and a major overhaul to keySelection, including turning it into a class. It’s still a bit of a work in progress, and it wont mean much to people who are just using the tools, but I plan on doing a post in the near future to talk about what’s going on in there in case anyone wants to leverage it in their own tools or pipeline.
A few other scripts have been updated to keep in sync with the new ml_utilities, and this is the first update that isn’t necessarily backwards compatible. So if update ml_utilities you may get an error in the individual scripts saying it’s out of date, just try downloading the latest. If you have any trouble let me know.
